Bishop William Murphy III is now an official member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity Inc, a historically Black Greek fraternity.
In a video shared on a social media, the dReam Center Atlanta pastor can be seen pledging Omega Psi Phi in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Bishop Murphy was dressed in a purple and gold T-shirt, purple dog collar with silver spikes, and gold boots.
Congratulations have been pouring in from other clergy members and gospel musicians such as Pastor Jamal Bryant, his wife Dr. Karri, Pastor Kenneth Leonard (husband to Tasha Cobbs Leonard), and Bryon Cage, to name a few.
However, the image of Pastor Murphy participating in the fraternity's probate show and wearing Greek fraternity paraphernalia has taken some social media users by surprise with some calling the pledge to Omega Psi Phi "wordly."

Other notable members of Omega Psi Phi include Rickey Smiley, Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner, Pastor Kenneth Leonard, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson, to name a few.
The fraternity was founded in 1911 and is a founding member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Its mascot is the dog. Members are called Omegas or Ques.
