Coach Deion Sanders and the University of Colorado have received a formal warning to cease incorporating religious activities into their activities with the college football team.

A nonprofit group called, Freedom From Religion Foundation, claims that prayers and the use of chaplains violate the rights of players and staff members who don't share the same beliefs.

Coach Deion Sanders, who is a dedicated Christian, is accused of incorporating faith-based practices into University of Colorado football team's schedule.

For example, Coach Sanders often uses chaplains, such as Pastor E. Dewey Smith, to inspire and educate his athletes.

Moreover, the coach regularly shares faith-based messages on social media.

However, a pro-religion group called First Liberty argues that Sanders' actions are protected under the tradition of public prayer dating back to the founding of the United States.

Moreover, they point to the precedent of chaplain programs in public spaces, including student and professional locker rooms.

Coach Deion Sanders is showing no signs of stopping his approach. Earlier this week, Coach Sanders had Denzel Washington, who is a licensed minister, to speak to the team at spring training.
