It's wedding bells for the Sapp family!
Marvin Sapp, Jr, the only son of gospel great Marvin Sapp, married his fiance' Arica Nelson on May 3, 2023. The couple have been engaged for a little less than a year.
The expansion of the family is a blessing for the Sapp family. Thirteen years ago, Marvin Sapp's wife MaLinda Sapp passed away due to Stage 4 colon cancer on September 9, 2010. MaLinda Prince Sapp was a professional counselor and administrative pastor at her husband’s Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
After her passing, Marvin was left to raise their three children- Marvin II, Mikaila and Madisson- by himself.
The 28 year old Marvin Sapp Jr. is a Howard University graduate. He and his fiance' recently purchased a home together.
On his social media, Marvin Sapp shared, "I'm proud to see my children grow into successful adults and create their own families."
Marvin Sapp is one of the most successful gospel music artists. He came into prominence more than 30 years ago as a member of Commissioned.
In January 2007 as a solo artist, his hit song “Never Would’ve Made It” was released and launched him into superstardom. The song spent 46 weeks at the top of the gospel radio charts and became the longest-running No. 1 radio single of any format. It became the first song by a gospel artist to sell more than 1 million ringtones.
In 2022, TV One aired the Marvin Sapp biopic, "Never Would've Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story." It chronicled Marvin's life from his battle with alcohol abuse as a teen, his love for MaLinda, and his rise in the music industry.
Congratulations to Sapp Family on this beautiful blessing.!
