The Daystar family drama has finally spilled over into the public arena.
Weeks after her son, Jonathan Lamb, and his wife, Suzy, alleged in an interview with The Roys Report that Joni was involved in covering up their daughter's sexual abuse by a family member, Joni Lamb has released a video addressing the allegations.
In an official statement, Joni Lamb accused Jonathan of attempted blackmail, which sparked after he was denied the position of Daystar president after the passing of his father, Marcus Lamb.
Joni's statement, which has been posted to the Daystar website, states:
"Jonathan was extremely disappointed that he was not named future President of Daystar following the death of his father and my husband, Marcus, despite the fact that Marcus had clearly given a directive to the family and to the Board that I would succeed him as President."
Furthermore, the statement suggests that Jonathan harbored some resentment at his mother for marrying Doug Weiss, a Christian counselor and sex therapist, after the passing of her husband, Marcus.
Joni writes, "His [Jonathan's] disappointment in not getting his way only deepened when I married Doug Weiss, who has been such a blessing to me, the rest of my family, and Daystar."
In their interview with The Roys Report, Jonathan Lamb and wife Suzy allege that in 2021, they caught a family member with their unclothed daughter at a beach house in Florida. They allege that their daughter later revealed that she had been sexually abused.
Suzy alleges Joni told her not to report the incident to the police.
Jonathan and Suzy allege that Jonathan's father, Marcus Lamb and his mother Joni conspired to protect the accused family member and Daystar’s image at the peril of their own granddaughter.
Marcus Lamb died in November 2021.
In her recent statement, Joni Lamb stated that Jonathan was fired after an unsatisfactory 15-month performance improvement plan.
