DJ Unk has reportedly passed away.
Anthony “DJ Unk” Platt first skyrocketed to fame in 2006 with his breakout single “Walk It Out, ” which reached the top 10 on Billboard 100.
The dance quickly became a cultural phenomenon.
In December 2023, Bishop William Murphy and dReam Center Atlanta went viral for their New Year's Eve celebration where church revelers greeted the new year by dancing to "Walk It Out."
The Atlanta-native's follow-up single “2 Step” also made it onto the charts.
According to People magazine, DJ Unk died after suffering a cardiac arrest this week, according to his wife.
DJ Unk was only 42 years old.
