Dr. Bobby Jones will FINALLY be honored for his extraordinary contributions to gospel music.
The gospel vocalist and host is set to receive the Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement during The Recording Academy’s Special Merit Award ceremony, which will take place next month during Grammy week.
Jones has an expansive discography.
He has won more than 1,500 awards, including a Grammy for Best Soul Gospel Performance by a Duo or Group for “I’m So Glad I’m Standing Here Today.”
Frankie Beverly, Prince, Roxanne Shante, The Clash, Taj Mahal and Frankie Valli will also receive the Lifetime Achievement Award during the Feb. 1 ceremony.
