Lee Daniels has assembled an all star cast to propel his supernatural thriller to #1 on Netflix.

Loosely based on the true story of Latoya Ammons and her three children, "The Deliverance" is directed by Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels.

The film stars Andra Day, Mo’Nique, Glenn Close, and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor who all give powerhouse performances that help to bring this supernatural thriller to life.

The 3 amazing actors playing the children are Anthony B. Jenkins, Caleb McLaughlin, and Demi Singleton.

The film is about a struggling single mother (played with near perfection by singer-songwriter Andra Day) and her family who move into a new house with a secret history and encounter evil spirits that threatened the family bond and, ultimately, their lives.

What makes the movie especially horrifying, but yet compelling, is that its based on true events.

In 2011, Latoya Ammons, her mother, and her three children moved into a rental home in Gary, Indiana. Ammons recalls seeing a shadowy figure, witnessing her children levitating from their beds, and hearing them speak in unnatural deep voices.

Many of the events are detailed in official records obtained by The Indianapolis Star, including dozens of interviews with police, DCS personnel, psychologists, family members and a Catholic priest.

At its core, the film is a riveting, semi-autobiographical, religious horror flick that illustrates the spiritual warfare between good and evil.

"The Deliverance" is currently playing on Netflix.
