R&B icon, Angie Stone, is tragically killed in a car accident!

It has been confirmed that R&B icon, Angie Stone, has sadly passed away in a fatal car accident.


Angie Stone died following a performance in Montgomery, Alabama. Nine other passengers were in a van with Angie Stone during the accident; however, she was the only fatality.


Angie Stone, born Angela Laverne Brown in Columbia, South Carolina, was known for her rich vocals and timeless hits like 'Wish I Didn’t Miss You' and 'No More Rain (In This Cloud).'


Stone had been nominated for 3 Grammy Awards. In 2003, she received a Grammy nomination with R&B singer Joe Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for the song "More Than a Woman." Then, in 2004, she a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the song "U-Haul." Finally, she was nominated with legendary R&B singer Betty Wright for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for the single "Baby."


In Angie Stone, she received the Soul Music Icon Award at the Black Music Honors.



In 2013, Stone appeared on season two of TVOne's R&B Divas, along with other R&B singers: Monifah, Faith Evans, Syleena Johnson, KeKe Wyatt, and LaTocha Scott.


In 2024 she was inducted as an honorary member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.


Angie Stone leaves behind 2 children, Diamond and Michael.


She was only 63 years old.
