The Stellar Awards Select 4 Memphis-Based Radio Stations as Candidates for Radio Station of the Year



Today, the Stellar Awards announced that first round voting has begun for the 38th Annual Stellar Awards. In the artistic categories, only members of the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy are allowed to vote. However, the Radio categories are open to the general public.


The Stellar Awards are the premier awards in gospel music. Produced by Don Jackson's Chicago-based Central City Productions, the Stellar Awards recognize excellence in gospel music.


This year, the city of Memphis and the Mid-South area have the most candidates for RADIO STATION OF THE YEAR. For Large Market of the Year, the Memphis candidates include WHAL 95.7 Hallelujah FM represented by Tracy Bethea; WAVN 104.1 FM/1240 AM represented by Linda Covington; and WBBP 1480AM represented by Tracy Morgan. For INTERNET STATION OF THE YEAR, THE INSPIRATIONAL GOSPEL MUSIC CHANNEL (www.InspirationalGospelMusicChannel.com) represented by Rodney J. Sanders is the candidate.


First round voting closes on April 10th. Those who receive the most votes will move into the second round.
